Gregoire,

I have no desire too or intention of entering into a "flame war" on web
design either because I think we would agree that beauty is in the eye of
the beholder and designers are only ever answerable to their clients and to
themselves but I think you miss my point.

I'm not suggesting for a minute that it is "arrogant" to keep your
customers happy and in fact the reference that I made to arrogance related
too, or was *intended* to relate more to your comment "the time of the Web
for everyone is over".

I also think that I made it pretty clear that you *should* do whatever best
suits your client to the very best of your ability and that includes
explaining the downside/pitfalls should they want to proceed with something
that is not going to benefit them and *I* don't believe that by disabling a
users right mouse click benefits anyone. If *you* and your client believe
that is the right way to go, then so be it...I was merely passing an
opinion on a subject that has been round the block many, many times on this
list and I have yet to see anyone hold up a flag saying what a great idea
it is.

I agree that a vendor of Porsches is not going to advertise in a bicycle
lovers magazine, although from a purely marketing perspective, it might be
a really bright move :) it certainly wouldn't do him any harm, but we are
not talking about magazines here...we are talking about a medium that
embraces many diverse interests and is frequented by people from many
different countries, with differing lifestyles and degrees of wealth.
Personally I wouldn't shut any of them out if I could help it...but that's
just me.

If it's on the internet, irrespective of what it is, it's public unless
it's password protected and allows nobody but a chosen few to enter, and
even then, I wouldn't guarantee it's privacy so I'm unsure as to what you
mean when you say it's private but it really doesn't matter. You are doing
what your client wishes and as long as he/she is happy, that's all that
matters in the grand scheme of things.

Oh ...and BTW you would have a hard time getting me to support "Women's
Lib" too and I'm a woman *smile*...I don't need it :)

Enjoy your day/evening in your part of the world.

Kym
