I want to buy a Wacom tablet and would like some feedback from people who
have experience with them.
There are two levels, the professional (Intuos) and the consumer (Graphire).
I am considering one of two sizes 4X5 or 6X8. Since there is a wide price
difference, I would like to get the one that fits my needs and not one that
may be overkill.
I do Web design and draw in Photoshop, etc. I am not a high-end illustrator,
although, years ago (pre-computer) did more illustration work. I do not think
I will be going into illustration heavily, just to compliment Web design.
I am getting the tablet for use with the iBook I just bought (so will be
carrying it from place to place). I may also use it on a desktop computer. (I
now draw well enough with the Kensington TurboMouse, which is a trackball
with a relatively flat surface.)
I have researched it as far as talking with Wacom, going on to their site and
taking the little test (on which one you need) and talking to CDW on what
they know and pricing.
Question 1:
Is the 4X5 size too small for drawing?
Question 2:
Is the 6X8 a size that gets in the way of using the keyboard and accessing
the other mouse that comes with it?
Question 3:
Anyone out there in the same place I have described myself (or not) with any
words of wisdom?
Thank you for any info you can give me.
