If you are selling art on the net, one solution would be password protecting
the area, as someone mentioned, but then that will limit who can access it,
which kind of defeats the purpose of selling it on the net.  The best thing to
do in that case is to watermark the image... I have used that method before,
and it has worked well for me.  By placing an obvious but not too intrusive
watermark over the painting or photo, people can still steal the image, but
it's clearly marked as not belonging to them and not attractive enough for
anyone to want to use it on their site.  In theory, someone could go in and
remove the watermark, pixel by pixel, if they were good enough to pull it off
well, but that is an awful lot of work and most people won't bother.
