My experience with alt tags (not necessarily in Fireworks but placed with any
program or by hand code) is when you slice an image, you only have a fixed
area for that slice. So if your tag is more than a few letters, it may not be
DISPLAYED entirely.
It would be interesting to ask if the computers that are set up for blind
users, that read tags, would be affected by that. Perhaps, they can still
read the entire word. I have heard that alt tags are used by SOME search
engines; the search engine topic itself very deep and varied how they work.
