 Hi Virginia,

Yes, when I switched to 640x480 I had to scroll (down).
The browser and various bars use up some of that 640x480 landscape.

Also if person "A" has a superwamy 21" monitor and person "B" has a 14" wimpy
monitor and they both set their monitors to 640x480, which one will see more?

640x480 is that 640x480 to my best understanding.

 hope this helps,

 Kord Nelson
