RE: MSFrontPage

You will probably get alot of bad news regarding using FP. Personally I have
found it to be quite useful in creating pages.
The drawbacks are, it tends to change some codes around (saves JavaScript in
the body tag... ) and the "explorer" interface tends to only see all files as
stored on it's personal server.
I worked out the bugs, I don't even bother with the "explorer" part, strictly
use the "editor" as WYSIWYG interface. If I write entries for special scripts
or markup I save those through a text editor, not letting FP touch them.
It uses drag and drop, right click, lots of shortcuts and helpful tools.(
makes gif colors transparent right on the page, creates tables with one click)
I generally run it simultaniously with Notepad, Webford, NN4, MSIE3, PSP4, MS
Img Comp, and have found seamless saving and viewing interaction.
Pass this info along to your friend, and tell him 40$ is a good deal. I think
I paid $150 almost two years ago. Which is also something to consider, the
date of creation of FP97 was just about the time HTML3.2 was made a standard.
It generally saves with a standard HTML2 DOCTYPE. Nothing that can't be
tweaked through a text editor like Notepad.

As far as the MAC problem, I would be interested in hearing the answer to your
question myself. I haven't come across that situation yet, but its only a
matter of time.
