mouseover/jpg/gif not loading

ok  why is it that when i upload a gif or jpg sometimes it doesn't fully
load and I get left with a blank space at the bottom? This drives me crazy.
Have tried interlaced and non interlaced, gif and or jpg but still won't
load.
I have a mouseover on my front page and if you care to have a look the door
doesn't open properly - I have reloaded and reloaded the page and the
graphics.
Am now getting cross! Help!!!!
