Hello you all,
I have been lurking for quite a while but now I need your input. This
is my "premiere" here. I'm at the end of my wits.
I am working on a portfolio site of a friend of mine who is a
professional photographer.
He has his monitor calibrated for his work (print). He says that the
pictures in the popup windows look totally "washed out" on his
screen. He uses netscape 4.75 for the mac. I tried it out here and
indeed, the colours of the pictures differ considerably.
Here are two links:

try the first picture on the second row
or
the first picture on the third row

last picture on the first row: The boy's sweat shirt should be a
fully saturated orange.
Now, I wonder how much "colour correction" is happening in the
browsers? When I send some of the jpg's to my friend he says they
look just fine (in photoshop). He thinks this is happening because I
am not using the same monitor calibration as he does.
I understand that he is an artist and wants his pictures on the web
as accurately as ever possible.
I am grateful for any insight into this problem :-)
Doris
PS. Warning: The pictures on the popup windows are HUGE. The site is
made for his clients (advertisment agencies, big companies) that all
have big monitors and fast connections.
