mac monitor woes

Hi All,

I wonder if someone can help me with this. I was working on my Mac
(Performa, 3 years old, with an Apple monitor the same age) and the screen
suddenly flashed pink, then blue, and now is remaining in "pink mode"
despite having restarted a couple of times.

Have any of you ever experienced this? Any ideas on troubleshooting before
paying out a small fortune to the repair shop?
