When I look at the above page in a browser I see that one part of the central purple circle is lighter than the others ("mainnav_r03_c06.gif"). Is this what you're looking at too? If so, and if the core question about shared experience is "What is a plausible way to get one slice colored differently than other slices?", then the easiest way is when you use different palettes for each slice. If this is what happened there, then a fast way to reset it is to: (a) select the slice in Fireworks (b) go to the Object Inspector (c) choose "Export Defaults" from the compression popup (As Valerie noted, you can use a given set of compression options for the entire image, but also have the freedom to give each slice its own compression methods. If a reduced palette changes the slice's color, though, then you might see a color difference when the slices are reassembled.) Might something like this be what's going on there? When you go into the original PNG in Fireworks, then is that one slice being exported with a different palette...? jd John Dowdell, Macromedia Tech Support, San Francisco CA US Search technotes: http://www.macromedia.com/support/search/ Offlist email risks capture by the spam filters.
