Mac users need not despair!

They can easily convert among RGB, hex, and other color modes with Pixel
Spy, which can be downloaded from http://www.versiontracker.com and
elsewhere.

The other useful shareware app is Color Picker Pro, which also can be
downloaded from Version Tracker.
