For whatever platform you're using, you should become familiar with the
ways of accessing the various symbols and alternate characters that may be
found in a font family. Several replies have given tips for Windows. On the
Mac, alternate characters can be found using the Key Caps utility, which is
included with the operating system. On the Mac, the copyright symbol is
accessed by OPTION-g.

Occasionally, a font may not have the symbol you want, or you may not like
how it looks in that font. In those situations, consider using a different
font for that particular symbol. Also, in some situations, you may want to
change the point size for a particular symbol.

If you want to use the copyright symbol in HTML, you can simply type it the
same way you would elsewhere, but I'm not sure that all systems would
translate the character properly. The alternative is to use © for
copyright.
