Strategestic, Inc., is a startup interactive/Internet advertising agency in the
San Francisco Bay Area, with regional offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, and
Seattle.  Strategestic focuses on delivering high-end strategic, creative, and
technical Internet solutions to medium and large businesses.

Strategestic is currently looking to fill a Web Applications Engineer (a Web
development position) opening in the following locations: San Francisco, Los
Angeles, San Diego, and Seattle areas.  Financial compensation strongly based
on experience.  Potential for large stock options based on performance.

The Web Applications Engineer is a Web programming position, providing Web
programming services, reporting directly to the Online Technology Director.
Working with the technology director, this position will be responsible for
providing high-end Web server-side production services for EdgeMedia client
projects (focus is on CGI, Java, and Perl.) This candidate will be experienced
in server-side Web programming, and will have a special gift for developing
backend solutions that connect the final product to traditional, evolving, and
new business models and strategies. Will be responsible for programming
database integration/legacy systems, ecommerce systems, advertising banner ad
systems, and other CGI based systems for Web sites.

* 3+ years of Web programming (server-side) experience.
* High-tech experience a plus; experience with advertising agencies also a
plus.
* Experience developing fast, compact, easily read server-side code that
results in a final product that meets specified needs.
* Experience in programming assets for Web sites or other Internet technologies
is required.
* Expert, high-end programming talent; must be able to conceptualize
architecture and framework, as well as work from other ideas, and must be able
to create unique, original, compact, and high-speed code. 
* Understanding of online technologies, and experience developing comprehensive
Web sites; experience developing for Windows/PC, Mac, Unix, CD-ROM, kiosk's,
and other platforms a plus.
* Understanding of user interface design issues, limitations of technology, Web
color theories, cross-platform and cross-browser programming, and how
server-side programming relate to them.
* Strong understanding of security, and how to program solidly secure code.
* Extensive programming abilities in C/C++, Perl, CGI development, SQL, Tcl,
Java, and Visual Basic; additional languages a plus.
