We have been retained by a company which is leading the Internet=20
community in designing and developing a next-generation global
service that will affect the lives of every Internet user. Their software
products encapsulate metadata used to control and automate the=20
exchange of information over digital networks=97this service will be=20
employed by consumers and businesses around the world. =20

Their founding team has been a key contributor to the latest W3C XML
(Extensible Markup Language) standards involving automated data exchange,
including RDF (Resource Description Framework) metadata and P3P
privacy protection. :
We are looking for people who:
* know the latest Internet tools, methods, and standards,
* have the maturity and experience to be comfortable
setting new standards, and
* want to design and build this platform from the ground
up. =20
The following positions are currently available in Seattle, Washington,
where the company is willing to relocate someone to the area.

Server Development Engineer
* 7+ years systems programming experience
* good architecture and design skills
* experience in web server development
* strong experience with web servers, e.g. Apache,
Microsoft IIS, Netscape NSAPI
* strong experience with CGI/HTTP programming
* strong experience with web development languages, e.g.
Perl, C, C++, Java, Javascript, ODBC, VBScript
* familiarity with Internet technologies, e.g. TCP/IP, DNS,
NFS
* familiarity with object-oriented development
methodologies and tools, e.g. UML, Rational Rose, C++
* knowledge of query languages such as SQL
* knowledge of, and experience with, XML a major plus
* experience with UNIX development environment, e.g.
Solaris, SCO UnixWare, Free BSD
* experience with system application programming, e.g.
querying, threads, asynchronous processing, caching,
hashing
* experience with high-traffic web site design a major plus

* experience with web-based technologies, e.g. HTML,
VBScript, JavaScript
* experience with web-server technologies, e.g. Apache,
HTTP, embedded SQL
* experience with interactive testing tools, e.g. Segue,
Mercury Interactive
* experience with user interface testing
