Manager positions? 

We have been retained by a company which is leading the Internet community in
designing and developing a next-generation global service that will affect the
lives of every Internet user. Their software products encapsulate metadata used
to control and automate the exchange of information over digital networks. (A
Craig McCaw backed company.)  Their founding team has been a key contributor to
the latest W3C XML (Extensible Markup Language) standards involving automated
data exchange, including RDF (Resource Description Framework) metadata and P3P
privacy protection. :

We are looking for people who: 

* know the latest Internet tools, methods, and standards, 
* have the maturity and experience to be comfortable setting new standards, and

* want to design and build this platform from the ground up. 


Position Title: Team Lead/Director of Software Development
Location: Seattle. Washington

Compensation: Competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, full benefits, 
relocation, and Pre-IPO Stock Options.

Qualifications (wish list)
* strong, proven software team leadership skills 
* strong management experience of complex projects and large groups (20+
people) 
* 10+ years experience with distributed systems design and implementation 
* strong architecture and design skills 
* strong experience in web server technologies, e.g. Apache, Microsoft IIS,
Netscape NSAPI 
* strong experience with CGI/HTTP programming 
* strong experience with web development languages, e.g. Perl, C/C++, Java,
JavaScript, ODBC 
* experience with object-oriented development methodologies and tools, e.g.
UML, Rational Rose, C++ 
* knowledge of query languages such as SQL 
* knowledge of XML and related technologies 
* experience with UNIX development environment, e.g. Solaris, SCO, UnixWare,
Free BSD 
* experience with system application programming, e.g. querying, threads,
asynchronous processing 
* experience with distributed middleware, e.g. message queuing, RPC,
transaction processing 
* familiarity with RDBMS systems, e.g. Oracle, SQL Server 
* familiarity with Internet technologies, e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, NFS 
* experience with high-traffic web site design a major plus 
* potential for growth to VP of Engineering position 


Configuration Management-Lead Position

* Manage integration and version control of product components i.e,
requirements, source code, test ware and documentation 
* Development and implement integration procedures 
* Experience with source code control tools in a distributed development
environment, e.g. SCCS, RCS, VSS, PVCS, Perforce, CVS 
* Experience with makefiles and associated tools, e.g. make, shell scripts 
* Good programming skills, e.g. C, C++, shell, Perl 
* Experience with web-based technologies, e.g. HTML, VBScript, JavaScript 
* Experience with web-server technologies, e.g. Apache, HTTP, embedded SQL 
* Product release/packaging experience 
* Requirement tracking system and/or software test experience a plus
