CONTRACT: Web Developer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

As the primary manager of Our Web site, you 
will work closely with the company's and third party 
product groups, sales, and marketing and developers. You 
will need to be able to effectively translate business 
needs and goals into effective Web solutions, 
understand/communicate/define/adhere to procedures and 
guidelines, and effectively communicate and deliver 
upon delivery dates and expectations. Job will require 
hands-on integration of material into site, and 
management of contractors for the same. Do competitive 
analyses and recommend changes. Responsibilities include 
defining and implementing site strategy/templates/ 
guidelines/content, generating visibility/defining and 
managing programs to increase traffic and exceed users 
expectations.

Ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented person willing 
to roll up sleeves and maintain tight schedules on multiple 
projects simultaneously. Must be able to enforce/communicate 
standards and requirements and be a customer-focused thinker. 
Requires excellent interpersonal skills.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

* Minimum of five years experience in the high tech industry 
in one or more of the following areas: Web marketing, 
marketing, marketing communications, product marketing, 
sales, or PR. This experience must include at least two 
years hands on Web experience, including site architecture, 
writing for the Web and production (HTML, perl, etc.) 
* ability to think conceptually/navigate through a large, 
complex site and directory system 
* detail-oriented person who can maintain and enforce consistent 
style guidelines and handle several projects concurrently 
* strong communication skills -- both written and interpersonal; 
will have daily contact with content providers and must be 
able to get regular updates from them 
* excellent project management of both clients and web 
contractors 
* multitasking/priority setting/planning 
* organized/flexible/results driven/motivated/quick learner 
* entrepreneurial mindset, willing to invent and try new ideas 
* communications -- both written and interpersonal 
* team player 
* computer skills (UNIX a plus) 
* BS/BA in relevant discipline

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* knowledge of computer software, networking technologies and 
emerging technologies like Java 
* knowledge/experience in vertical markets (TV, phone, 
telecommunications, automotive, embedded) 
* experience in writing basic marketing collateral/programs 
is desirable 
* knowledge of scripting and programming a plus (perl, java, c) 
* knowledge of database publication systems a plus 
* knowledge of Photoshop 4.0 and photo editing skills
