Sr. Web Applications Engineer

Description: 
Responsible for the development and support of Web applications for Sybase
internal and external sites. Provide technical leadership for designing ,
building, and maintaining a single, comprehensive Content Repository. This
will include creating 'back end' processes and applications to support the
requirements of the content authors as well as creating and supporting the
processes to dynamically serve this content to all Sybase web applications
for both internal and external customers. Support the design and
development, testing, technical documentation, and roll-out of other
web-based services for the Sybase, Inc. Web sites. In many cases, these
services will be developed using third-party components; responsibilities
will then include evaluation, installation, configuration, and
trouble-shooting of these products. Develop tools and scripts for the
on-going maintenance of Web components. Develop processes that simplify and
automate maintenance activities.

Requirements: 
BS/BSCS & 5-7 yrs or MS/MSCS & 4-6 yrs. Computer Science or related field
of knowledge is required. Requires 5-8 years related experience with 2+
years experience in Unix and one other OS platform. 

Must have familiarity with the Internet, World Wide Web, Content Management
and Metadata, and supporting protocols (HTTP, HTML, CGI, TCP/IP).
Experience In electronic commerce. 

Knowledge of encryption, compression, security, authentication aspects of
internet familiarity with data transfer protocols: http, https, ftp, wget.
Use of IDEs such as: PowerDynamo, Cold Fusion, StoryServer.
