Type: F/Time
Position: Web Designer
Locale: Silicon Valley
Interval Research was founded in 1992 by computer visionary and investor
Paul Allen and Silicon Valley veteran David Liddle. Interval frames issues,
maps out concepts, and creates technology that will matter in the future.
We focus especially on devices people will use every day. With its
long-term resources, Interval pursues breakthroughs in a score of seedling
technologies and works to build industries around them, sparking
opportunity for entrepreneurs.
One of these efforts, PhotoWand.com, involves the storing and sharing of
virtual photo albums through a simple and fun user experience that allows
consumers to create and share photo stories completely offline while
simultaneously creating a virtual slideshow to be shared with friends and
family remotely. This technical effort has matured to the extent that it is
ready to be spun out as a start-up organization in Northern California
(Silicon Valley).
As a result of our need to further develop these ideas and transition them
into development, we are in the process of recruiting a number of key
individuals to help spin out this start-up, one of which is for a Web
Programmer to design and develop a full-featured website for this project.
This position requires a degree in BSCS or equivalent, and a minimum of 3
years of work experience involving the design and development interactive
web design utilizing Java, JavaScript, and HTML. We'd also like to see
some familiarity with XML, XSL, and SMIL.
Any experience working with contract design houses, or product interaction
design (web, client applications, tools) will be considered an advantage.
We are offering a competitive base salary, bonus, and generous stock
options for this position in addition to a technically challenging,
stimulating environment with tremendous upside potential and the opportunity
to be one of the pioneers in the growth of the organization.
