Director of Web Production

The Company

Zactus is a recently-launched Internet start-up providing unique benefits
to a massive target market in the fields of music and film production and
marketing. The company's vision is enabled by a potent combination of
target market familiarity, industry know-how, and technology. 

The company has been established by experienced music/film industry
professionals together with KenTech Ventures; a leading Israeli "venture
catalyst" firm consisting of top Israeli high-tech executives. The company
is expected to grow rapidly in a short period of time to become a
"destination site" in the entertainment industry, and is following a
fast-track IPO route. The company plans to open its New York City
headquarters in the first quarter of 2000. 

The Position: Director of Web Production

The company is seeking a full-time Web production director who will be
responsible for the following functions for a large-scale,
frequently-changing, cutting-edge Web site: 

Development of Web site information architecture and technology strategies 
Planning and implementation of all Web site components: hardware and
software infrastructure, Web servers, content management system,
dynamic/personalized content delivery systems, back-end content database
servers, and the like. 
Maintenance of Web site compatibility with required platforms, browsers,
screen resolutions, and end-user connection speeds. 
Management of the in-house and outsourced Web site developers who will
implement the site: HTML developers, JavaScript, Java, CGI, dynamic content
delivery developers, database developers, and the like. 
Integration of multiple components into final Web site implementation:
text, graphics, multimedia, client-side software, server-side software, and
the like. 
Administration and maintenance of site servers and Internet connectivity to
ensure 99+% high-performance up-time. 

For suitable candidates: Web site user interface design and usability
testing, in cooperation with the company's Web/UI designer. 

For suitable candidates: Performing marketing measurements of site (usage
tracking). 

Required Qualifications

Experience in planning, deploying, integrating, and managing Web server and
Web application hardware and software solutions 
Expertise in client-side Web technologies and techniques 
Experience with at least one dynamic/personalized content delivery platform 
Experience managing in-house and contracted teams of Web-environment
developers 
Professional, perfectionist approach to work 
A team player 
Experience in user interface design and/or usability testing - an advantage 
Experience in Web site usage tracking and reporting - an advantage 

Terms

Employment terms will be discussed with eligible candidates. As a brand new
start-up company, stock options with substantial potential upside shall be
included in the compensation package. The position is for full-time
employment in the company's New York City headquarters.
