My name is Chris Govil and I am a Marketing Associate for
SevenMountains Software, a hot new start-up software company that
specializes in integration applications for the enterprise. Our
integrate framework technology allows businesses to effectively deliver
any application over any network to any device. We are currently looking
to completely re-do our corporate website.

The overall feeling we want in our site is to appear as a well established,
well funded, organized, on the cutting edge corporation. We want to make
ourselves look like a leading player in the enterprise applications=
 industry.
The website will be a marketing tool (company image, news, product info-
online brochures, demos etc), and an information resource of our products=
 for
potential and existing customers/partners etc. Actual content will
initially be based upon our currents site www.sevenmountains.com as well
additional content, which will be developed over the next few months and
integrated into our site. From our preliminary meeting we would like to=20
explore
the following design attributes for our site (see below) and would like to
consider your company(or you) to implement our site.

If you could please send us information regarding your company (or you),
its web design strategy and philosophy, services, your graphic art=
 experience,
and some pricing information that would be great (so I may give to the=20
decision-
makers to consider). Please take a look below at some of the things we want=
 in
a site (note: everything is up in the air right now so below are just=20
ideas. However,
our company has made a firm commintment to the project and would like to=
 begin
the process as soon as next week even.) Thank you so much for you time and
consideration. I look forward to hearing from you. Contact info is at
the bottom of the page.

Sincerely,
Chris Govil

SOME OF OUR IDEAS:

From early discussions, some of the key attributes that must be present
on our website are:

- Portal look & feel
- Extremely fast website
- We want our site to visually fit into any browser, on any OS, on any
monitor so that it is user-friendly. One possible
idea is to centralize the page in the browser. See www.2bridge.com.
- Introductory flash page that auto-transfers you to home page. Should
have capabilities to skip straight to home page.
See www.realvision.com. Note: if you have not downloaded the plug-in
then it doesn=92t work with IE. Should be some
sort of work-around so that home page is guaranteed to appear. Also we
would like it if skilled in Macromedia Flash.
Future contracts for site likely (ex. Macromedia demos, online streaming
demos etc. =AD note: these are things we will
want on our site.).
- Tracking. Want to be able to tell who our users are by requiring them
to login for some of our product information
or to get to the demos. Want very user-friendly survey. Pull Down Menus,
Minimum Typing Req. ie) Name, Phone,
Email, Company Name, Optional Box w/Comments. Possibly Pull Down Menus
for Market Research. Example:
www.bidcom.com/html/demo.html
- We use a web trends analyzer-reporting tool. We want to continue using
this. Note: major purpose of website is to
generate qualified leads, attract people. We don=92t want our to Exit Page
to be the Home Page. Site Stickiness
Extremely Important (when is it not=85.)
- We like menus where when the mouse is over let=92s say Products it
flashes you a menu which you can then select
specific products. See www.mercuryinteractive.com/ and hold mouse over
the products tab.
- Hidden Areas/Special Access Areas. See www.merc-int.com/alliances/ and
try entering North America Partner Zone.
- Since we target different vertical industries and also potential
partners like ASPs, we want layout to be such that
these folks can easily select the special areas that contain information
that pertains to them.
- Would like HTML 4.0 but if only if at least 95% of browsers support
it..
- We Must be able to upgrade content relatively easily and have the
option to create additional pages if needed on our own.

Note: we are open to the possibility of having the page upgraded by
you in the future but the idea is that the
finished product could be turned over to us.
