A Manhattan-based Internet startup developing advanced interactive trading
tools. We are 17 employees.
We have a need to hire people for a new company jointly owned by a highly
respected brokerage company. It will fill a crucial, but as of yet
untapped, need within the online brokerage community. The positions
provide an excellent learning opportunity in quantitative finance in an
unobstructed entrepreneurial environment, and are a great opportunity to
get into a start up at a very early stage. We were nominated by Red
Herring as one of the top 50 start ups on the east coast in 1999.
All successful candidates should be/ have:
1) highly self-motivated, with a great desire and capability to learn on
the job
2) excellent personality skills to allow him/her to work in the "close
quarters" of an internet startup.
3) motivated to take a risk for future reward. All compensation packages
include stock options.
4) previous U.S professional experience
5) full time employee
6) understandable English
We need ASAP:
1. WALL STREET PROGRAMMER (1)
2-4 yrs experience; its best if they've worked on a trading floor and know
something about math or finance. The reason we need this person is that we
need an interface between the research area and the technical staff; i.e.
someone who will understand a quantitative finance project when it is
described to him by an expert. The successful candidate should have a
Math/CS/ Finance/trading type of background, but with 75% of the emphasis
on CS.
2. JUNIOR PROGRAMMERS (2-3)
Fresh out of college, or with 1-2 yrs of experience. Desired skill set is
a large number of the following: C, Unix, shell programming, perl, awk,
gdb, linux systems admin.
3. AN EXPERIENCED C/UNIX NETWORK PROGRAMMER (1)
4+ years Lead Programmer with some project management experience and lots
of knowlege about Unix systems administration. C, Unix, shell programming,
perl, awk, gdb, linux systems admin, design skills + in-depth knowledge
of: tcp/ip, unix kernel, unix ipc, http, nfs.
