ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Develop server-side IMAGE COMPRESSION software packages that
automate (encodes/converts) image optimization and compression upon
being uploaded to a server to expedite image download by website
visitors (optimize input images into optimized output images). This
is important for our website subscribers (Realtors) because they are
generally Internet illiterate and who may attempt to upload a 1-6 MB
file.

REQUIREMENTS: Automated Server-side Image Optimization &
Compression, Image sizing, File sizing, Resolution
1. SERVER: Server-side capable on a Linux server.

2. LOGISTICS: Our website subscriber selects
images/photos and file path for upload... software
automatically optimizes and compresses original file to
server specifications (can be as small as: 256x192/72
dpi/<20K file size) leaving no requirement or
responsibility upon a Computer/Internet illiterate User.

3. RESULTS: Minimum file size, excellent image quality,
fast download speed.

4. EXAMPLES: Please view the quality of compressed photo
images displayed at the URLs listed below. Unfortunately,
the companies showcased below offer specifications outside
the requirements listed in this e-mail.

5. DIGITAL CAMERAS: The Kodak DC290/280 are probably
going to be the digital cameras most highly recommended to
our Realtor subscribers, based on:
* ease of use for picture taking
* ease of use for download to PC laptop.

combining transmission functionality with JPEG
compression enabling even faster image selection and
despatch."

6. SUMMARY:

Needs:
- automated image compression on server-side
with Linux server
- automated image enhancement
- high efficiency disk storage
- low cost software purchase
- single server license, royalty free, with
unlimited client runtime distribution

Results:
- faster transmit times due to reduction in
file size from compression
- enhanced image quality compared to digital
camera original

Timeline:
- April 2000
