Development Project Manager - Hard Dollar Corporation



Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. VP of Product Development, the role of the Hard Dollar 
Development Project Manager is to provide technical product leadership and 
hands-on project management for the various component modules of the Hard 
Dollar Java Suite of infrastructure construction automation applications.



Key Duties & Responsibilities:

* Oversee, monitor and direct the technical planning, project management, 
design, implementation, testing and release of individual Hard Dollar Suite 
components.

* Oversee product development staff to include coaching, mentoring and task 
management.

* Work collaboratively with Hard Dollar Product Managers to plan out new 
releases of the Hard Dollar Suite of products.

* Manage to product development budget.

* Management of third party consultants.

* Recruitment of permanent development staff.



Experience/Qualifications:

* A track record of successful software development delivery (on time, on 
budget) is a must.

* 3 - 6 years of experience in software development management.  The ideal 
candidate should have experience in a commercial software development 
environment or significant internal IT applications development/deployment.

* 2-3 years of web-based Internet or Intranet application development 
experience.  We are looking for candidates who have successfully built and 
deployed web-based applications.

* 2-3 years of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design experience.  Knowledge 
of Unified Modeling Language (UML) and use of Rational Rose or Microsoft 
Visual Modeler is required.

* 3+ years experience using Microsoft Project or an equivalent project 
management tool to manage complex software project activities.

* Excellent communications are required.  Must be able to foster a team 
environment and work with internal and contract resources to meet software 
project development goals.

* Must have ability to be very flexible in order to balance software 
delivery objectives with dynamic business environment.

* Must be intimate with or have used Software Development Methodologies 
such as SEI's Capability Maturity Model or the Rational Unified Process.

* The candidate must be familiar with Java 1/2 Enterprise Edition concepts 
and components such as Enterprise Java Beans, Swing, JDBC, and JNDI.

Other Highly Desired Skills

* Knowledge and experience using Web application servers such as BEA 
Systems' WebLogic or IBM's WebSphere is highly desired.

* Knowledge and experience using Java Integrated Development Environment's 
such as Inprise JBuilder or Symantec Visual Cafe is highly desired.

* Experience using Oracle 8i, Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
