Senior Java Developer

Hard Dollar is a well-established, well-funded (recently granted $11

We are seeking experienced, self-motivated, energetic, driven senior-level 
Java Developers to join our dedicated Development staff.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

* Develop applications on a Sun Solaris platform using Java, JavaBeans, 
Enterprise Java Beans, and Object Oriented Design.

* Create written Java Bean and EJB application requirements

* Work with and/or manage the off-shore development team

* Code reviews and Quality Control testing

* This position will grow into hiring and managing a team of Java developers

* Developing the world's best and most exciting Java 1.2 applications!

Experience & Qualifications:

* Must be self motivated and self directed

* Expert grasp of Java development practices and  2 + years of Java 
development experience.

* Experience with: Java Beans, JDBC, JavaScript, Java Servlets, EJB, and 
OOD. 


*Prior .com experience preferred.

* SQL

* Oracle 8i experience.

* BS/CS Computer Science or the equivalent and 2-5 years of proprietary 
software development or E-commerce site experience are needed.

  Development Project Manager

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Product Development, the role of 
the Development Project Manager is to provide technical product leadership 
and hands-on project management for the various component modules of the 
Hard Dollar Java Suite of infrastructure construction automation applications.

Major Responsibilities:

* Oversee, monitor and direct the technical planning, project management, 
design, implementation, testing and release of the individual Hard Dollar 
Suite components.

* Oversee Product Development staff to include coaching, mentoring and task 
management.

* Work collaboratively with Hard Dollar Product Managers to plan out new 
releases of the Hard Dollar Suite of products.

* Manage the Product Development budget.

* Management of third party consultants and recruitment of  our full-time, 
regular Development staff.

  Experience/Qualifications:

* 3 - 6 years of experience in software development management.  The ideal 
candidate will have experience in a commercial software development 
environment or significant internal IT applications development/deployment.

* 2 - 3 years of web-based Internet or Intranet application development 
experience.  We are looking for candidates who have successfully built and 
deployed web-based applications.

* 2-3 years of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design experience.

* Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML) and use of Rational Rose OR 
Microsoft Visual Modeler is required.

* 3+ years experience using Microsoft Project or an equivalent project 
management tool.

* Outstanding verbal and written communications are required.  Must be able 
to foster a team environment and work with internal and contract resources 
to meet software project development goals.

* Must have ability to be very flexible in order to balance software 
delivery objectives with our dynamic business environment.

* Must be intimate with or have used Software Development Methodologies 
such as the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model or 
the Rational Unified Process.

* The candidate must be familiar with Java 2 Enterprise Edition concepts 
and components such as Enterprise Java Beans, Swing, JDBC, and JNDI.

* A track record of successful software development delivery (on time, on 
budget) is essential.

Other Highly Desired Skills

* Knowledge and experience using Web application servers such as BEA 
Systems' WebLogic or IBM's WebSphere is highly desired.

* Knowledge and experience using Java Integrated Development Environment's 
such as Inprise JBuilder or Symantec Visual Cafe is highly desired.

* Experience using Oracle 8i, Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.

  Director - Website Operations

  Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Product Development, the Director 
of Website Operations will be responsible for all development and 
maintenance activities around the HardDollar.com website, which is a 
business-to-business, e-commerce portal and application host for the 
infrastructure construction community.

Major Responsibilities:

* Responsible for development and maintenance of HardDollar.com website, 
and the automation of back office processes related to the site

* Management of Website Operations staff (internal and external), including 
developers, systems administrators, and database administrators

* Manage relationship between Product Development and Product Management 
organizations in all website related activities (i.e., content management, 
graphical design, etc.)

* Manage relationship between Product Development and Information 
Technology organizations in all hardware infrastructure related activities

* Assist in the management of Hard Dollar's web hosting partner to ensure 
SLA's and other commitments are being met

* Integration of all Hard Dollar applications into HardDollar.com

  Experience/Qualifications:

* The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing all aspects 
of a commercial website.  This should include experience in both web 
application development as well as technical operations.

* Must have experience working with and managing teams that use HTML, JSP, 
and JavaScript for the development of a highly componentized website, 
preferably in a Sun UNIX/Oracle 8i environment.

* Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process or equivalent systems 
development methodology

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic Product Development environment

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related subject or the 
equivalent education is required.
