Senior Vignette Engineer =AD NYC =AD Full Time

=B7 Leads design activities and makes client technology decisions
=B7 Is a project technical visionary
=B7 Accurately scopes a project, makes concrete project estimates,=
 accurately
resources projects and creates detailed technical project schedules
=B7 Leads technical team through all phases of methodology
=B7 Writes/reviews Technical Proposals, Technical Specifications, Design
Documents, Deployment Documents and other technical documentation.
=B7 Directs and assists in technical deliverable reviews; performs technical
lessons learned upon project completion
=B7 Works closely with, and learns from other functional disciplines during
the discover, define, build and deliver phases of a project
=B7 Learns new skills in order to provide client satisfaction; produces
technical solutions that meet client requirements
=B7 Improves vital skills such as software lifecycle development processes,
project management skills, risk assessment, the importance of taking pride
in one=92s work, and delivering a quality product.
=B7 Works in and fosters a team environment
=B7 Promotes methodology and encourages best practices in all aspects of the
development cycle.
=B7 Technically mentors engineers
=B7 Works closely with other functional disciplines in gathering=
 requirements,
assisting in the integration of non-Engineering components and ensuring the
quality of technical projects
=B7 Integrates technical modules and delivers the completed work on time.
=B7 Makes high-level project decisions in conjunction with other functional
disciplines
=B7 Has a full understanding of the tools, platforms, and software available
for Internet/eCommerce development
=B7 Has formal software design process (UML, RUP) and development life cycle
experience
=B7 Is ultimately responsible for all technical decisions, solutions and
implementations
=B7 This is a technical leadership position; the candidate understands that
these responsibilities take priority over coding and other low-level tasks


Minimum Qualifications

=B7 10 years professional general software development experience
=B7 4 years professional hands-on internet software development experience
=B7 3 years experience in Vignette products is a must.
=B7 2500 hours of client project work
=B7 BA/BS, or equivalent combination of education and experience
=B7 Strong experience with (2) of the following C/C++, Java with EJB and XML
on Unix or NT Platforms
=B7 Expert in one of the following databases: Oracle, Access or SQLServer
=B7 Expert in HTML and either ASP, JSP or Perl; has a good understanding of
JavaScript
=B7 Experience with (3) or more of Cold Fusion, NAS, BEA, OWAS, ATG Dynamo,
WebSphere, Vignette, Broadvision, FutureTense, Site Server or other major
Internet technologies
=B7 Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to follow
instructions; positive attitude
=B7 Acute attention to detail and consistent problem-solving abilities
=B7 Self-starter with the desire to grow and excel in a dynamic environment
=B7 Fast learner / easily adapts
=B7 Working knowledge of web programming technologies: CGI, HTTP/HTTPS,
TCP/IP, major web servers
=B7 Knowledge of database systems and interfaces
=B7 Experience working within and leading software development teams
=B7 Knowledge of process flow / lifecycle development
=B7 Knowledge of hardware configurations and software's effects on those
configurations
=B7 Proven ability to take work from previous phase, understand it and=
 proceed
to next phase (assuming complete documentation)
=B7 Experience in Object Oriented Design and Coding
=B7 Ability to conceive, design, write and document reusable software
components and processes
=B7 Experience with large software development teams
=B7 Experience leading technical projects with a team oriented focus
=B7 Has participated in project design
=B7 Previous experience with eCommerce, Personalization and Content=
 Management
Systems
=B7 Experience working directly with clients

Compensation

Commensurate with experience and market conditions

At least 2500 billable hours and after approximately 4-10 projects or 18
months to 3 year for promotion to Lead Engineer, assuming the Senior
Software Engineer has consistently demonstrated top performance, an
innovative approach to solving problems and managing his/her team, and
excellent coding/debugging/documenting ability. Competency must be
demonstrated in achieving the minimum levels for Senior Software Engineer.
