Front-End Developer, New York City

Position: Front-End Developer
Type: Contract, then Full Time if both parties are happy
Location: New York City
Rate: Market
Citizenship: US or green card

Job Description: An innovative education company seeks a Front-End 
Developer for internal Web and print production systems. The Front-End 
Developer will help integrate design and back-end engineering processes. 
Candidate should have 2+ years experience with dynamic page technologies 
(JSP, ASP, Cold Fusion, XSLT) and client-side languages (HTML, Javascript, 
CSS). Familiarity with XML and object-oriented programming concepts a plus. 
Candidate should be able to excel in a fast-paced environment. Strong 
communication and collaboration skills are a must.

Required Experience:

Experience with dynamic page technologies (JSP, ASP, Cold Fusion, XSLT)
Experience with client-side languages (HTML, Javascript, CSS)
Experience with heavily data-driven applications a big plus
Exposure to object-oriented development (Java, C++, Delphi, or Smalltalk)
Knowledge of cross-browser issues
Demonstrated ability to accurately transfer designs to screen or print
Some familiarity with XML and XSLT concepts
Experience with Unix systems a plus (Solaris, Linux)
Strong understanding of computer science concepts
Ability to quickly prototype solutions

The Front-End developer should be able to excel in a fast-paced 
environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must. At 
least 2+ years of front-end application development experience are also 
required.
