Hi Jacqueline,

There are several other form processors that allow for the creation of
output files, email, and "Thank You" pages that can contain form data.

bnbform, alienform, and phorm are a few that come to mind. They all use
text files to format output.

You could try that approach.

Subject: javascript? or something else?

Greetings,

I've been an active member of the graphics lists for over two years, but
this is my first time using the languages list. Hopefully, this will be
helpful.

I am trying to accomplish something using JavaScript, that I think is
relatively simple, but the solution seems to be eluding me. Though, I've
usually been able to work out my JavaScript problems, I can't seem to find
the fix for this one.

I have a client who has a small mail order business, and does not want to
move to one of my shopping carts, nor do they want to use credit card
processing. So I worked out a JavaScript form that works beautifully for
their purpose. It allows the visitor to select product, quantities, totals
out the order, etc. When the form is submitted the action is posted to a
basic FormMail cgi script on the server and delivers a simple email of the
order to the client. The user's browser is directed to a "Thank You" page
with instructions where to send thier payment. So far so good, and I have
no hitches with this part.

However, I'd like to have the value of the totals from the form (before and
after taxes) also passed to the "Thank You" page, so that the user can print
the page and know how much to write the check for. I've searched for a
script, (and probably have looked right at the answer!), but can't seem to
find what I'm looking for. I've used my reference books as well as the
internet to find the solution, but still am searching. I have a feeling it
really isn't that tough (and I'm really hoping so!). Does anyone have a
suggestion?

Thanks in advance,
Jacqueline Sylvia
