There's been a lot of discussion about extending the list of valid Top-level
Domains (TLDs) because all the good DOTcom's are taken.  That's where the
DOTbiz extension comes in.

I haven't followed the recent developments, but you can find out more at the
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN www.icann.org) at
this link: http://www.dnso.org/dnso/notes/19991023.NCwgc-report.html  I
think it's their most recent report.

There is a "working group" (working group C) that is responsible for this
project.  They are evaluationg things like .store .biz and roughly 6-10 new
global Top-level Domains.
