The problem is a simple one, discussed in the last issue of Webtechniques
among other places.
In NN, you can't close a </td> on a new line after an <img> tab without
extra spacing showing up.
Solution. close the </td> on the same line with the <img> like so:
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<img src = "top.gif" width = "780" height = "180" >this is the logo
image</td>
</tr>
</table>
I'll leave it to you to use whatever indentation and line formatting you
prefer for your HTML.
