I can't believe I'm saying this but . . . you should use frames for this,
with a <a name="a"></a> . . . <a name="x"></a> in each section. Then in the
top frame you would have the drop down box referencing anchors in the
bottom frame.

Subject: making a dynamic table

Hello List People...
I have a project where I have a column (table) of 24 rows--all text items
(a - x for example--though the text will be more than just one letter) & a
drop down box with 24 values (1 - 24 for example). What I want to do is
have the rows within the columns move based on which value is selected in
the drop down box ... The default should be that "a" is in the first row
when "1" is the selection in the dropdown, etc., what I want to happen is if
the dropdown selection changes, the rows "adjust" to that selection (if 5 is
selected then a moves to the fifth row & the 4 "displaced" "letters/rows"
move to rows 1 - 4 --in proper order).
I know how to make a dropdown box, & how to make a table with 1 column and
24 rows (sure that's the easy part <S>), but I am clueless on how to make a
script to manipulate these rows in the fashion I am aiming for...nor have I
been able to find one already made in the various script repositories. Your
help would be appreciated more than you can imagine : )

much alohas,
