Re: Date Last Modified

Hi:

I would like to thank everyone for their invaluable comments and
suggestions.  I had looked up the archives but unfortunately I could not
find references to the topic.  The problem with the search no doubt was due
to my inexperience with the search tool.  I did not post my url because I
didn't think it was appropriate.  Since Ms. Sawyers suggested I list the url
for the website here it is: http://www.ascld-lab.org .  The incorrect date
was showing up when the user went to the search page and conducted the
search.  After the postings I learned from the user that it was not every
page that was listing the incorrect date last modified but actually one that
was created on the fly from a perl script.  As most of you surmised the user
was in fact using Netscape Communicator version 4.06.  MSIE gave the correct
date on all pages.  I wound up using a modified version of the script
suggested by Cyanide-7.  Instead of making it read out as Unknown I had it
read out the date at that point in time which was consistent with the date
that MSIE gave.  Mr. Temer,  your reference to Lesson Eight from the
Tutorial of the JavaScript Learning Center on the Date Object and Arrays was
great and I am going to read the entire series.  Thanks for the reference. I
also read Mr. Koch's webpage ( http://www.xs4all.nl/~ppk/js ) under Date and
Time => Last Modified and found that very informative too.  When I see the
many comments and suggestions made in this forum I realize how little I know
but I also realize how much I can learn.  Once again many thanks.
