I use an FTP client called FTP Voyager & it has a setting that automatically
uploads in binary or ascii depending on file type, so you don't have to
think about it once you have it set up...binary will cause chaos with html
files too (found out the hard way when I opened a file & it had double
spaced everything in all my html files...all that white space crashed
browsers & I got an angry email about it, once white space was gone, no more
crashed browsers. <S>)...so this program has been a great help to me when I
am up real late working & might not be "at the top of my form"...actually
anything that I can set & forget is a great help to me <S>.

[snip]: I'm sure people who deal with this all the time will have real
advice for
: you, but one of the things I did was to delete the file from the host
: server, check to make sure I had my ftp program on ascii mode and upload
again.
