CSS NS problem

Hi all,

I have a style, thus

.mainBkgrd {font-size: 7pt;
height:400;
width:500;
background:EFF1ED;
border-color:EFBE42;
color:8c9382;
font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif}

and then a table

<table ... class="mainBkgrd">
...
</table>

In IE the table gets display in with the correct width and height, but in NS
the table shrinks to the largest element within the table. So when the table
is empty it shrinks to nearly nothing. Is this a known problem with NS, is
there anything I can do about it???
