hey all,
the Netscape DOM is comprised of instaniatable objects. Image and Layer
for example are widely used. other objects such as Document, Location, Form,
Input and Anchor can be created, however other objects such as Frame,
Window, and Embed cannot. i have experimented with instantiating these
objects, but cannot get them to behave remotely as those created by the
browser in the DOM. for example, if i create a new Location, and assign a
value to its href, no connection to the destination is attempted. is it
possible to artificially create these objects to exist in a fully function
parallel DOM that is not rendered? the Image and Layer objects' behaviours
seems to suggest that maybe this is possible. only the Image object seems to
exist like this in IE. any thoughts would be appreciated. - Cyanide_7
