After hearing rave reviews about emacs and xemacs
I tried them. Went back to vi. Another guy here
tried xemacs at the same time I did and he won't
use anything else now. YMMV. 

I've done a lot of html and some perl using nedit.
It's a free x-based text editor that will run on
