you know you're a geek when...

I hope nobody minds this frivolous post. Call it the
holiday weekend effect. Just wanted to share a thought
or two with like-minded geeks:

Do you ever find that when you have your teeth deeply
into a project, you can sit in front of that machine
and three, four, five, six hours can fly by like
nothing?

Do you ever find that when you're working with a new
programming technique or otherwise discovering
something new and truly cool, and it really works,
that you sometimes find your heart actually starts
beating faster?

I do, and I admit it: I'm one sick mouse potato.
