After all the attention given to Y2K I expected
the US to move into the next millenium using the
full year. In this I have been disappointed. It
seems we've gone back to the old two-digit year.
Well, I guess Y3K is 1000 years off. ;-) I don't
know what the style manuals and such are saying,
but common usage that I'm seeing - even in the
business world - is indicating that 06/02/00 is
acceptable in many many situations. I'm not
endorsing or condemning this - just observing.
Others may have different observations.
Conclusion: If 06/02/00 is acceptable in a given
situation, timefmt="%D" will get you there.
