JSP Question

Hi everyone,

I have a quick JSP question about file extensions. My boss has decided he
would like to have the headers and footers on our existing internal web
site to be generated by JSP. Our headers and footers are currently static
html. The problem is...he doesn't want our current URL
(intranetsite/index.html) to change to (intranetsite/index.jsp) because
then we would have to add meta tags to each of the .html files redirecting
them to the .jsp page (this would be a huge project). I suggested using
SSI where we could use XBitHack which would allow us to use the file
extension .html, but he is set on using JSP.

I have read tutorials and have searched JSP list archives but I can't seem
to find a way to have a .html file extension while using JSP. I hope this
is not too confusing..I am very new to this and am very appreciative of any
help!

Thanks,
Jennifer
