Hello list,
I'm moving my first and uncertain steps towards PHP and dynamic
languages coding in general. I have made some simple scripts, joined
and tweaked existing ones, because probably I'll soon have to dive
into a couple of different projects.
Well, I have seen that there's a lot of PHP code out there ready for
MySQL databases, and not much for PostgreSQL. It's not a problem for
me, because MySQL will be enough for my needs and for the small web
sites I master, but my boss wants a complete re-design of the
corporate web site. Maybe he'll move away from existing M$ back-end,
but refuses MySQL in any case as the database solution, saying he
wants something more compatible with ANSI SQL, and probably
PostgreSQL will be chosen.
Just wondered if there was some easy way to modify a PHP script that
uses MySQL in one that can use PostgreSQL (and vice versa)?
Is there any good site to explain how to go about it, or even a
script to do it?
Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
