1. Start the Registry editor - regedit is easier for this task than regedt32
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
3. From the Edit Menu, click New - DWord
4. Name the new value PasswordExpiryWarning and press enter
5. Double click the new value and set to the number of days before the
password expires that you want the message to appear.
