FrontPage newbie

Per request, I've just installed FrontPage server extensions and
I'm already living to regret it....

It's a very plain vanilla install: only one ID set up - the
admin id, and no sub-webs.

Now I get a report that an attempt to create a new folder
within the document root via FP Explorer failed without,
I'm told, any error message.

Access rights look OK at the file system level (IRIX) and
I see no errors in the web server logs (Netscape Enterprise).

Sigh.

So now what?  Is there a comprehensive FP admin resource somewhere,
for example?  It seems I'm s'pose to be an instant FP expert....
