A small suggestion, if you're looking for an exact string rather than a
portion of a larger string, try using the "=" operator instead of "Like"...

i.e. "WHERE (((tblmessage.ddReply)='None'))"

If that doesn't work, I am out of suggestions without having a copy of the
database to look at.  If you are still stuck, contact me off-list, and we
can pursue this in more detail...
