I have run Seattle Labs SLMail Server(http://www1.seattlelab.com/slmail/),
and found it easy to use and administer, and it costs only a fraction of
what M$ Exchange will run you... My deployment was for around 75 users,
but from what I saw, it would easily handle 400 or more... Also mentioned
is Imail from IpSwitch.... I have worked on an client's installation of
that, and it is also a solid mail platform. Both of these mail servers
support mailing lists, autoresponders, address forwarding, and all the
other standard features.
