Well, of course, if people would get used to public key encryption and
digital signing that problem could be gotten around.  I don't say PK
is perfect, but it's a lot, lot better than this alternative.

Naturally, of course, I understand that one must follow the market
and if people are lazy, they're lazy.   But, then, one can't really
put the responsibility entirely upon the technology, right?  I don't
want to get into a flame war on the topic, but the situation with
"net nanny" software is similar:  The problem isn't only the
"stuff out there on the 'Net" or blocking technology but, too, that
parents don't want to surf along with their kids or don't trust the
values they've taught their kids or don't want to do the work to
pre-screen what their kids see.
