Server-Challenged

Howdy!

Was hoping some of you server gurus can give me the basics on SSLay & 
SSLeay - what they are and the difference.  I hate not knowing something 
and these terms keep popping up.  I know what SSL is and Versign and Thawte 
but went to both sites as suggested in the FAQ and nada in regards to these 
two terms.

When working on ecom sites and I know I have asked server companies to 
install them per our programmers requests but even in searching (probably 
not searching with the right terms) cannot find a site that tells someone 
like me who is more into the business vs. technical end of things what they 
are all about and what is involved in the installation.

Why would you use SSLay over SSLeay or are they one in the same?  What is 
involved in installing them on a server?

If anyone has a resource they can point me to so that I can understand the 
difference would be great!  I appreciate any help you can offer and thank 
you in advance for your patience!
