Default page for PHP on Apache Server

I am moving a client from Apache server that is using PHP3 to
my server which is using PHP4.

My default pages (for PHP4 clients) are "index.php" or "index.php4"

The problem is that this client wants to KEEP his index page as "index.php3"
(and still run under PHP4 on my server) because it was registered this way
  in a ton of search engines and directories.

Is there anyway to do this for just one client -- and still keep the same 
default "index.php" for all
my other clients that are using PHP4?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
