  I learned FP98 because of an existing site I took over. And I agree
with you about some of the non-standard things it does and the hassle
it can cause with editing. But, before you go and shell out for more
software, you might want to consider this. I downloaded Arachophila
can't beat the price. And in the Read Me file they have instructions
on marrying it to FP to use as and editor. Works great for me. I can
hammer out pages in FP then call up Arach to edit and remove some of
the FP stuff I do not want. 
  Just a thought and it's free so why not try that first?
