Granted Dreamweaver is an excellent product...
The answer to the original question is:
Insert > FrontPage Component > Insert HTML
If you choose this method you will find that FrontPage
does not 'convert' your code and you sacrifice your
ability to see a WYSIWYG preview of that part of your page.
