Alt attributes in IMG tag are quite useful on the contrary. For=20
"meaningless" images like spacer gifs and line graphics you should insert=20
empty alt attributes. It takes the image out of the page flow in text only=
=20
browsers. If you don't put an empty alt attribute Lynx for example inserts=
=20
a bunch of [INLINE] in the text to show there was an image there and this=20
is as annoying as seeing [spacer gif] or [line] in there. The empty alt=20
attribute eliminates that.
