I'm not sure where you tried to download it from Hubert so I'm not sure w=
hats
up....I just tried all the FTP sites I usually frequent and things seem t=
o work
here.

IMHO the best bet is to download the ISO image of Linux-Mandrake
and then burn it to a CD, then you have the exact image...and then it sho=
uld be
a flawless install after that. If you have access to a CD burner :-)

ftp://ftp.tux.org/pub/distributions/mandrake/iso/mandrake61-1.iso

As well it has been my experience that these FTP sites below are the best=
 bet.
:-)

ftp://ftp.tux.org/pub/distributions/mandrake/

ftp://ftp.wtfo.com/pub/linux/mandrake/

ftp://ftp.math.utah.edu/pub/linux/Mandrake/

Note: the one thing I negleted to mention with Linux-Mandrake is you must=
 have
a Pentium class processor...the old 486 won't fly with this distro, as it=
s
optimized for a Pentium.

As well any "Win" hardware like WinModems...make good doorstops. :-)

Hope this helps ...remember you will need some patience for the first bit=
=2E..as
it is unlike the Win enviroment you maybe used to...but if you are a
"nuts_&_bolts" kind of guy...you will love it ...and just like Perl....on=
ce
your hooked...its all over :-)) <g>
